Compass Support Volunteer with us

Volunteering is very rewarding.
It helps you develop valuable experience and skills while supporting others to improve their lives and the communities they live in.

💜 💜 💜 💜 💜

Volunteering is a great way of helping you to connect with the local community, especially if you’re new to the area, it can help you get to know your neighbourhood and make new friends. It’s also a good way to practice and develop your social skills, especially if you’re naturally shy and find it hard to meet new people. There is also lots of evidence that volunteering has a positive impact on your health. Research has shown that volunteering can increase a volunteer’s longevity, improve their mental health, keep them fitter and help them to cope better with illness.

There are plenty of ways you can help and you can give as much or as little time as you wish. Many of our volunteers found they had time on their hands after retiring or when their children started school, and they wanted to put their skills to good use.

But we also offer opportunities for younger people, students and graduates to get involved and volunteering can be a great way to enhance your CV by gaining new skills, knowledge and experience as well as developing existing skills and knowledge.

Most importantly volunteering can be great fun! However you get involved you’ll be a valuable part of a team and you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that you’re making a vital contribution to the lives of those in the community.

As a volunteer at Compass Support volunteers are the heartbeat of our organisation in our mission to help people reach their true potential.  Staff members are always on hand to provide ongoing help and support during your time volunteering with us.

I find it rewarding in many ways; good company, plenty of laughs and the chance to help others and bring the community together. The hours I volunteer are ideal and I still have plenty of time to enjoy my retirement in other ways.
