The countdown is on for the fun-filled Castle Vale Festival – which will bring entertainment, activities for all ages and stalls from a range of organisations, to Castle Vale Stadium on Friday 23rd August 2019 from 11am until 4pm.
The Pioneer Group has confirmed the ever-popular annual community event, which is free to enter and is being held for the first time in the new location.
Previously called Party in the Park, the event is expecting hundreds of residents to turn out for what is being dubbed as one of the most popular community events by organisers.
With a wide range of food and entertainment including a music, a charity football tournament, karaoke and a quiz, there will be plenty of activities to entertain all age groups.
Younger Castle Vale residents are being catered for with a petting zoo, fare rides, face painting, and a youth inflatable village.
The Active Arts group will also showcase opportunities available from September for school leavers looking to unlock their art-related skills, while drama group Wings will be showcasing local talent and hosting singing and drama sessions.
The stadium will see some football action as five aside teams battle it out during the day for the honor of the winning cup. Current participants in the football competition include Jaguar Land Rover, DHL, WM Police and more.
Festival goers will have an opportunity to meet the teams behind The Pioneer Group as stalls across the stadium will highlight a range of services available to Castle Vale residents, including:
- Money advice services providing money management support and education around Universal Credit and other welfare reforms
- Compass Support Employment services offering CV tips and helping residents discover local jobs
- Communities services raising awareness around community safety
- Assets Management services demonstrating simple but effective home techniques
- Ageing Better in Birmingham exhibiting local initiatives the community can get involved in
The new location will mark the relaunch of Castle Vale Stadium’s fresh look. Residents are welcomed to continue the party after 4pm in the newly-fitted, contemporary bar, for live music, a quiz and a drink or two!
Simon Wilson, CEO of The Pioneer Group, says:
We are thrilled to host this huge event to bring the whole of Castle Vale together. We always try to ensure that there is something for everyone to enjoy and want residents to come along and experience all the fun and excitement of our flagship community event.
“With a wide range of food and activities, this will be a great day out for all friends and family. United with the opportunities to speak to local groups from across the area, this event will help build a stronger, more informed community.
