Compass Support, the charitable subsidiary of The Pioneer Group, is resuming its Family Coaching Service which is open to local families with children up to the age of 18 years in the Castle Vale and Falcon Lodge areas.

The face-to-face sessions at The Sanctuary in Castle Vale and the Community Hub in Falcon Lodge, supports local families who are in vulnerable situations and need a little extra help. This could include children experiencing school or behavioural problems, or for parents who are struggling and feel isolated. The service aims to relieve pressure and build resilience within families as well as develop practical life and parenting skills.

Free of charge to residents in the Castle Vale and Falcon Lodge communities, the Family Compass Project assists families with, (but not exclusively):

• Parenting strategies (including setting boundaries and behaviour management)
• Physical and mental wellbeing referrals
• Confidence and social inclusion support
• Building resilience
• Domestic abuse support
• Debt and benefit referrals
• Employment support
• Practical life development
• Educational healthcare plans
• Additional learning support

The past 18 months have been challenging for many and we are keen for residents to know there is support available. By re-opening our doors and offering face-to-face services once again, our team are here to help families with any issues they are experiencing.

For example, we were contacted a family whose teenager was having problems attending school, which then had a knock-on effect on the home. After initial contact, our experienced team worked with the family to develop a plan, and after some time and support, the family now steady routine and a more relaxed home life.

Professional coaches use a “Whole Family Approach” at guidance sessions to achieve the best results. The team provides proven tools and techniques to resolve conflict and guides family members to communicate effectively with one another.
