Get a burst of energy and colour at Castle Vale’s first colour run!

As part of the fun-filled activities at the Castle Vale Festival on 23 of August 2019, The Pioneer Group will be hosting its first family 5K Colour Run.

Whether you are on your own, in a team of friends or even with your family, the colour run is open to all ages and abilities and welcomes everyone to take part whether it’s to run, jog to walk the course.

Free to enter, the run starts at 1pm, however participants are asked to be ready for 12:45 for a prompt start.

Taking place over three laps around Farnborough Fields, there will be five stations throughout the course where runners will pass through showers of powdered colour thrown by member of The Pioneer Group. But be warned! There may be a bit of friendly competition to see who can cover the most participants in powder paint, so make sure you’re dressed to get messy!

Philip Harris, Health Project Worker at Compass Support, the charitable subsidiary of The Pioneer Group, expects around 250 participants and said that:

“The colour run is a fun way to get more of our community active. It’s a great way to socialise and get outside during this brand new event.

“As part of the Castle Vale Festival, we will finish at the newly refurbished stadium, where the newly refurbished bar will help runners to take a well-earned break after the run.”

All runners are asked to wear suitable footwear and sensible clothes for the occasion and if members would like to wear goggles, it is asked that they supply their own. All paint is machine washable and environmentally friendly and it is recommended that personal belongings are left safely with a friend or family member to avoid any damage during the race.

Participants are asked to register for free before the run by clicking here.

Castle Vale Festival is a community event being held at Castle Vale Stadium Friday 23 August from 11am-4pm. With a variety of food, music and entertainment, it will be a fun day for the whole family. For more information, visit The Pioneer Group’s Facebook Page.
