Here at Compass Support, we have a key focus on community inclusion, with a particular aim to combat loneliness for our elderly residents. Our Health & Wellbeing team work closely with Ageing Better in Birmingham’s Tyburn sector to help elderly residents get involved in different community based activities.
Our team and local volunteers from across the area arrange regular social visits with residents whether it’s spending time outside, helping people get to activities, or simply pop round for a cup of tea and a chat.
With one million people aged 65 and over in the UK reporting they are often or always lonely, our Befriending Service is one of many steps we are taking in order to reduce this problem within our community. Many of our participants have experienced an improved quality of life and are thrilled to have renewed inclusion within their community.
